1.) Is Edgar going mad similar to how Lear has gone mad or is he just disguising himself really well? 2.) Why can't Cornwall kill Gloucester without a trial yet he can punish him to near death without any repercussions?

1)How does Gloucester know that Edmund lied about Edgar just by hearing that he was the one who gave Gloucester away for treason? 2)Why did Cornwall and Regan think they could come into Gloucester's house, injure him, and take over his house when he showed them hospitality?

In that time period, how do they disguise themselves so well? King Lears sympathy to Edgar, was it weak or normal?
